The Bloomington Community Foundation (BCF) is dedicated to building a healthy, strong Bloomington community. The Foundation’s volunteer directors share a vision of Bloomington as a caring community with an outstanding residential and business environment. We respect Bloomington’s rich heritage while anticipating the changes which will shape its future.

Through the BCF’s collection, management, investment, and distribution of charitable donations to the Bloomington community, the quality of life in Bloomington is enhanced. The Bloomington Community Foundation is a resource for those who wish to preserve their assets while contributing to the health and growth of Bloomington.

The Bloomington Community Foundation is a tax-exempt charitable organization, described in IRS Code section 501(c)(3). The BCF’s goal is to create a legacy which will ensure Bloomington’s vitality for future generations.  View our full color brochure here.

Less than 1% of all contributions to the Bloomington Community Foundation go toward administrative expenses.

Legacy Award

Each year we recognize a Bloomington resident who possesses a record of notable achievements, has demonstrated community leadership, possesses and exhibits high ethical standards, has a history of involvement in a variety of community activities and/or organizations, has illustrated ongoing support for community projects and is aware of, and able to, address community challenges from past, present and future perspectives.

Previous recipients include Jim Lindau, Robert Hoffman, Don Groen, Jan and Marty Chorzempa, Dianne Darr, Fran Heitzmann, Arnie Johnson, Coral Houle and Bob Peters.
